mid August in LI Sound

The striper fishing has been a bit spotty but keepers continue to be caught at various reefs and river mouths. night time is the best. The Fluke is dominated by shorts - even out to Montauk. Hope that situation improves. Porgy fishing is excellent! Blue fish are everywhere - especially in river mouths like the CT River but there is so much bunker and small bait you never know where they're going to pop up. Crabbing is good to fair. Not a banner year but worth the effort. Snappers are also showing up more and more. Bonito showed up in groves last week of RI shores. All in all, its a good year and worth taking an evening trip to bag a large striper. Tight lines:)
